What makes you proud to be a Ugandan?
Our wonderful climate and diverse cultures make me proud to be a Ugandan. We are hospitable and gifted by nature.
What was your initial or first travel experience? What memories did you carry from it?
My first travel experience in Uganda was in the early 2000s when I was doing brand activations for companies and it gave me an opportunity to visit different parts around the country. Unfortunately, I was not able to capture experience because there were no smart phones yet in Uganda. I liked the local dishes and the simplicity of life that people lived away from the noise polluted Kampala but a lot has changed since then. Roughly I have travelled to 16 districts since then and twice or thrice to some of them.
What are your top travel destinations locally and beyond? And why?
Some of my top travel destinations locally are Moroto, Gulu, Hoima, Jinja, Fort Portal, Soroti, Mbale and Arua etc.
What makes or breaks your travel experience?
What breaks my travel experience is the poor state of the roads. What make it are the wonderful people I travel with, ones I meet along the way and the beautiful diverse landscape.
What would you like to see done better in Uganda’s tourism sector?
I would like to see more roads constructed because they ease transport, and also create special packages that can drive local tourism to flourish.
Which travel destinations are on your travel bucket list, and why?
Some of the travel destinations on my bucket list are Kaabong for Kidepo National Park, Kisoro and Kabale for Lake Bunyonyi, and Fort Portal, the Tourism City for Queen Elizabeth National Park and its other tourism attractions etc.
What I love about my culture is that we are welcoming people.
